POWER POSITIONING
Every man wants to be in power, in charge, to have rule over something.  The most disturbing part is, not many are ready to pay the price. Here is a little information I gathered up to arouse you to rise and be in power of your mental domain.

Power is the dynamic ability to cause changes. It is a force initiated from within, that causes a shift. Power is realized when effort is exerted on something for an outcome. Whenever a human being focuses his or her mind to achieve a goal it is accomplished because focus is intensified effort. The Proverbs say in all labor there is profit no matter the form. Only you can elevate yourself from one level to the other by working in your mind. The mind is the factory of all fruitfulness in any human endeavor.  As powerful as the mind is, any plan or desire that cannot be interpreted to paper and ink is far from reality in the physical realm. The brain is the greatest tool for building staircases to power position. Power Position is being located or situated in a place – with the ability to cause or prevent an action.

Position is the location of an entity and also a measuring instrument of intelligence or progress. This is why in grade five you were particular about your position in class, or after that good deal, you decided to relocate from Chitungwiza (high density Suburb) to Borrowdale (low density Suburb). Your position determines how successful you are, it is an outward expression of your efforts. This proves to us that position is not only a geographical location. Do not take positioning for granted. Being in the right place, the right time is an advantage. If you want to be a banker, there are opportunities that never come to you when you are in bed, because you are wrongly positioned. There are people who are just found in the wrong place at the wrong time. Take for example, Gwekwerere on the 100 meter mark for a race with Bolt and the other athletes you met on Olympics last year. In this situation Gwekwerere cannot make it, but put him back on the football pitch and he will manifest his talent. Where you are now is a location only you can change, and you are going to change to allow development. You know yourself – sit down and examine yourself, are you on a basket ball court when you are meant to be at the swimming pool? Position yourself in line with your gift, talent. 

In Zimbabwe people have become accustomed to being put in positions by others who are established higher. There has been a drift from self belief within oneself - to having faith in high positioned people to use their authority to lift them to power positions. This is mainly because those with influential, successful businesses have formed a society that doesn’t allow others to ascend and always circulating business amongst themselves. There are stages in life we can never escape from, these are laws like gravity. Like. To be in authority you must have been under authority at one stage. When a man rises from no bottom it is difficult for him to appreciate the top. You can be a manager of a successful organization and still be fulfilled. These days everyone wants to start up something to be their own boss and be in command of a non-recognized business. You can go under someone and still be positioned in power. There are facts you should always take into consideration when positioning yourself. Do your best to rise within your thoughts. Culturing positivity in your thought pattern positions you rightly in life. A negatively oriented man always has things happening in an unfavorable way.  You should visualize yourself in that power position – where you are in charge of the circumstances that affect your life. Always be on top of the situation, let the fight be in the mind not on the outside. Present yourself in a positive manner, if you are having a bad day no one should be able to tell. This is when you have rule over your mind – chose to be powerful. All this is done in the loins of the mind. Invest your mind on power meditations. There are qualities you should always have to rise into a power position, be excellent, smart, efficient, and loyal.

Power positioning is holding on to a spot and growing with the focus of having dominion of that situation. Be mindful of where you are to be an avenue of power. Positioning is, understanding the importance of progress, exercising patience and being grounded to give room to advancement. Having understood power, you will know that for it to produce for you the desired results, you need to be rightly positioned. There are men who cannot chose where they want to be and what they want to do – power is liberty, freedom. You could be a messenger but possess a mindset of power. This is when your mind is active and seeing opportunities despite your positioning. 

Power Positioning is building yourself to accommodate expansion, success, progress – it is being in control of where you are, being sound. There are limiting factors in success that many people, especially in Zimbabwe have made strengths in achieving greatness – disloyalty, bribing, cheating etc. To be in a power position does not mean you are to be the manager or CEO of Econet wireless. Even if you are a tea boy, be in charge, make the best tea, be on time, smart – this shows you are positioned to rise higher. You could start up your agency and deploy tea boys to companies in Zimbabwe in a major way – because you accepted your position and worked within your mind to expand. You should always have a story to appreciate the value of being in a Power Position. I want you to know that so much potential lies within you, it’s not in the economy but in you. Make up your mind to make use of yourself and rise up, be relevant – someone should look for you because you have mastered something they can only get from you. I have outlined many definitions of being in a Power Position for you to have an understanding of the importance of being positioned in power. Open your mind and see opportunities where many people don’t see them.

Then I had to change my English into my mothers’ tongue. So I was sitting watching the sky. The car was walking too much. It was like the sky was running away like this. The driver was just looking in the front. I was misunderstanding what was happening. People in the bus were holding their intestines in their hands. The bus driver was running too fast, the people were crying for him to drop the speed. The guy who was on my side screamed and said now we are dead. The lady on the other chair shouted – he is full of water in the head, him the driver. So much noise filled the bus. People were grinding that death had arrived. Someone cried out – my mother heart. My father lion I am dying me myself. The laughing matter was that the driver never cared about the cries. It was like he had the heart of satan. I was suspicious the driver was finished with drugs. I got to a point I was finished with what to do. I didn’t know what to touch. The operator cared less what we were thinking. He forgot the saying, running is not arriving.

VISUALIZING VISIONS

A man without vision is not necessarily physically blind. Vision goes beyond eyesight. A vision is an image, or images whether physical or invisible. This is the interaction of the mind towards creating a direction in existence, for a particular outcome. This is a practical exercise of living or doing something before experiencing the reality of it physically. 

To be one without vision is to be short sighted in life. It is to live without expectations of a desired end. You are a man or woman surviving on a dead-end mission. Everyday is the same, no twist and turns leading to glory or beauty. I would say this is a religious approach to life – my wife always says human beings evolve. When you exist like this there is no room or space created for evolution and your ability to see becomes extinct. A woman who has been an English teacher for the past fifteen years teaching infants will find it difficult to see or visualize herself educating secondary school students or becoming the Head, because the routine over the years has ministered a message of impossibilities in expansion. She has created a comfortable environment of stagnancy in her mindset. This is mainly because she did not visualize further than being an infant’s teacher.  What you see is what you get. 

Vision always has to deal with change, a paradigm shift – it is altering the way you have been seeing your daily life to allow a little craziness in the light of progressing further. Don’t be afraid of change when you want to accommodate expansion and increase. A visionary is a man passionately driven to realize the goals of his heart desires. He constantly refers to that picture he saw and thrives to make it a reality. When you are vision driven you seize to consult your emotions in making decisions towards the completion of your vision. Your vision is your most meditated status in life. Okay let’s take a young man who has a desire to buy the latest Mercedes Benz and has dwelt on this thought long enough and it has been registered as a vision though shallow and selfish. Always remember that your vision is your mission. And he has written it down – I see myself in the latest Mercedes Benz by the 30th of June 2014. The depth of his desire will adjust the conditions around him to align with his wish. He will become conscious of this and everything he will do will be purpose driven towards buying this car. This will automatically cause him to save money and nature will present opportunities for him to be in that car. Then he continuously visits Zimoco to look at the car and saying that he owns one will fuel him to believe more. The Earth has intelligence. It is a law that if you are positive things will become easier and you attract what you speak the most.

Take your pen and paper – write down what you see in the next five years of your life. If you have no idea, just sit back and relax. It is not about how qualified you are, or poor you are. It is about maintaining a positive picture of greatness within your heart. In one of my articles I mentioned that the mind is the factory of all fruitful human endeavors. You can think yourself out of poverty into abundance. Take time to visualize yourself being able to pay bills, school fees and provide food. The only limitation you have in this life is you. Live above your salary, by knowing where you are going. I challenge you today to see a future so bright and pursue that mental picture, nothing can stop you. I always say nothing can stop a man with a vision because he is going somewhere.

When you take advantage of this God given ability you become a force to reckon with in anything you do. A man who knows where he is going is better than a man globetrotting in darkness. A man with a vision is not easily tossed to and fro by the shifts in the economy. This is the man who just doesn’t join any conversation started in the combis – I mean he is a man on a mission. A hungry stomach means nothing much to him if it is taking him closer to the fulfillment of his vision. Discipline is not a question for a man who is goal oriented. He is a particular character, careful and determined. The Proverbs say a diligent man about his business will stand before Kings and not ordinary man. Yes one can be diligent without vision but it will soon wear out because there is no growth in their life. Look, you can be a bank teller today and be the branch manager tomorrow only if you can visualize yourself there. After seeing yourself there – start behaving like a branch manager, walk, talk, eat and work like one. Get yourself a mirror and talk to the branch manager in the mirror – you can get there, trust in your vision. 

Don’t disqualify yourself of the higher life because of your present stand point. A vision is something you should always have in life. Be that bus driver because you want to start your own transport company, or an agency of good trained drivers – be on transit as long as your vision is not satisfied. Be self motivated always, there is no better man to deliver you besides you. I am saying as far as you can see you can get there. I am not promising that it’s going to be all rosy but remember contrary winds drive your roots deeper. Opposition only confirms the validity of your vision. When you do something that blends in well with everyone then you haven’t initiated change. Remember the only limitation is your mind. A vision always attracts to you the right people. And don’t trust everyone you meet and parade your vision. This is like map to a treasure hid on an Island, you don’t just share it with anyone. Have a step by step guide towards that picture of dominance you are painting. Learn to look beyond the immediate state into the vast future. There is a place for your dreams in this world – the fact that you could dream and write it should be your assurance for it being possible. Go ahead dream big.
